Can anyone recommend an excellent veterinary hospital in Los Angeles area?

My dearest little Pookie needs treatment for failing kidneys and respiratory infection. He needs to be admitted to a veterinary hospital for hands-on treatment and observation. Can anyone recommend a veterinary hospital in the Los Angeles area, where the people actually LOVE animals, want to help animals and don’t have dollar signs on their eyeballs?

If you can make the short trip, I HIGHLY recommend the VMSG (Veterinary Medical and Surgical Group) in Ventura. I’ve taken 2 of my cats there. They are basically a vet-referred hospital, but if you have an emergency, you can go right in. They have everything your cat needs to pinpoint exactly what is going on and the best treatment. These doctors are surgeons, oncologists, neurologists, etc. - the finest there is, and they have a great 24-hour staff there. It’s a big place and a wonderful place to take your ailing pet! I can’t say enough about them.

Everything is state of the art there! I took one cat there who got a C.T. scan for her cancer and they are so compassionate there, you will love the doctors and they care so deeply for your animals.
I took my other cat who has kidney disease and hypercalcemia there, they knew exactly what needed to be done. Diet change, Sub-Q fluids (which I administer myself daily - it’s taken away her hypercalcemia completely).
Also, since your baby will most likely need the Sub-Q fluids for life, ask your vet to authorize your buying them from the Fosters & Smith website. Instead of paying $12 - $25 per 1000ml bag, I pay only $29.00 for FIVE 1000ml bags with FREE shipping (if you buy more than 4 bags). It needs to be authorized by your vet, though.
The VMSG is where I would recommend anyone to go. They are right off the 101 and not too far of a drive. I drove 2.5 hours both times for my cats to get there. (I’m close to Pismo Beach)
