It seems the Times is growing thinner by the week. What are the predications about the newspaper’s survival, considering current trends in the newspaper business?

From I have read, Zell should seriously consider selling the LA Times (like he did w/ Newsday) to other local billionaires (David Geffen and Eli Broad) among others. Recently, the LA Times is becoming more of a 50-50 ad content ratio paper (as you have found out for yourself). Right now, Google news is still accessing LA Times content where people can access the LA Times articles online (I do, although I don’t live in the LA area).
I hadn’t found a specific timeline as to how long the LA Times will continue to be published. I got a feeling the paper will survive (it is the second biggest paper in the Tribune family behind the Chicago Tribune - its failure will be a huge ego blow to Zell), but it will not prosper in this economy and until Zell sells the newspaper.
